KEY BENEFITS OF DRY FREIGHT CONTAINERS
SECURITY:
All our dry freight containers are designed with in-built locking mechanisms. The mechanism uses steel bars and a ‘cam and lock system’ to fasten the doors and keep them securely closed and these should be utilized every time the container is left unattended.
DURABLE:
All our dry freight containers are manufactured using high tensile Corten steel, designed and constructed to be watertight, weather resistant and built to last for many years. Robust, the ISO frame helps to keep the cargo safe from damages during transit and the rear door locking mechanisms helps to prevent pilferage. Our containers are not only suitable for intermodal transportation of non-perishable cargo, but they are durable for the purpose of portable storage requirements and for modification projects such as container homes, hotels, offices, pop-up shops, swimming pools and container farming.
Intermodal Compatibility:
Our fleet of ISO standard and high cube dry freight containers are designed to be fully intermodal, on sea (above or under deck) and on land (road or rail) throughout the world. The ease of handling of boxes between different modes of transport helps to lessen transit time due to fast loading, unloading and checking at the ports, and improve the overall efficiency in operation whilst minimizing overall transportation costs.
VERSATILE AND STACKABLE:
Seaco’s fleet of ISO dry containers are designed so that they can be securely stacked on top of one another to ensure of safety (using a twist lock mechanism), and stability during shipping. Most shipping containers are suitable to be safely stacked up to approximately 9 or 10 containers high subject to the size, weight and condition of the containers and ground conditions. Stacking containers may be a great way of optimizing storage capacity and making the most of available space. Please note, it is advised that any portable storage requirements should comply to local authority regulations and safety guidelines.
SUSTAINABILITY:
Through continuous research and innovation, Seaco is working with leading manufacturers to be mindful of our commitment to comply to environmental standards today. Our fleet of dry freight containers are made out of high strength tensile Corten steel. The average life-span of a container is approximately 25 years. Subject to the end of shipping life condition, a container can be sold-on, and have extended life and purpose either for further transportation or portable storage. Steel is one of the only man-made materials that is entirely recyclable and because of this, any scrap steel is melted down and reused.
